A productive mulberry with large, delicious black fruit and huge, heart-shaped leaves. Originally selected in Naples, Florida, Shangri La has proven hardy here in Virginia as well. Fruits earlier than our other mulberry varieties, providing an especially early harvest of plump, above-average-sized berries. A small tree reaching up to 20'. Space 15' circle. Zones 7–9.
