Diospyros kaki ‘Tecumseh’ – Asian Persimmon
‘Tecumseh’ is a small, hardy Asian persimmon tree, named and selected by Dr. Jim Shanks of the University of Maryland. Likely a seedling of the ‘Great Wall’ variety, this cultivar produces soft, ripe fruit that holds on the tree well into winter—often through January or February. The fruit is excellent fresh, dried, or frozen. ‘Tecumseh’ is a long-lived, dependable, and highly productive tree.
